Kultūros tvartas 2004 (Cote of Culture 2004)

On August 27-28 days of year 2004 the second open-air festival "Kultūros tvartas 2004" (Cote of Culture 2004) took place in Lentvaris. The participants came to festival not only from Lithuania, bus from Germany, Russia, Ukraine, France, Italy as well.
As the last year the festival will pass in a state of ruin of the count Tiskevicius castle that is situated between the castle of Lantvaris and the lake. The festival’s stage is installed between ex-cotes of castle (only red brick walls are left from this buildings) Already for the second time in this extraordinary place Lithuanian and foreign professional artists DJ’ai, VJ’ai and others will show a glorious two days long programme of sound’s, view and light.
The festival programme shall to be started on Friday afternoon and without long pauses will continue till Sunday early morning.
During the festival the various arts types will be harmonized: DJ and jazz bands improvisations, video arts projects will illustrate the musical one, the special light effects will highlight and change the architectural ensemble spirit.
We can name the festival as Lithuanian “Woodstock”. During “Kultūros tvartas” it will be possible to say goodbye to summer, not in the city, but in the marvellous recess of nature, which is interesting by its history and architecture. Non commercial music, harmony of various arts this is the ambiance where the professional artists and arts lovers could to get to know with new trends of visual and sound arts and to spend creatively the last summer days.
Two days long festival invites all art and music lovers, who likes to spend time in the open country and who looks for new feelings.
The festival organisers secured professionally, a camp will be pitched near the lake; the bars and café will be opened on the festival territory.
For the guest convenience the shuttle Vilnius- Lentvaris-Vilnius will be available.

Main headlines of open-air festival "Kultūros tvartas 2004" (Cote of Culture 2004):

5NIZZA The Ukrainian duet singing in Russian “5nizza” (eng. “Friday”) pretends to be the most “desirable“ group of the festival. For many of us it is unnecessary to present perfectly harmonized reggae, soul, hip-hop styles and Russian songs traditions of this band from Kharkov. They introduce them selves by a Latin name duetus musicalis nonformatus. “5nizza” oneness is simple sunny music and creative songs’ texts. In these performers’ songs the words of Bob Marley, Erykah Badu, and Jim Morrison are cited and used the fragments of the song about cruiser “Aurora”. (more)

LYAPIS TRUBECKOI This year “Kultūros tvartas 04” guest will be, doubtless, the most popular Byelorussian band Lyapis Trubeckoi". This collective’s members were interested to have a possibility to perform in a real Lithuanian cote. The band manager mentioned that in the name of this possibility, they refused the alternative proposals. (more)

MIGNON The join of electricity and metal –this is strict characteristic of the music of “Mignon” from Berlin. The name of German vocalist is Ozzy Osbourne or simply "metal bitch". Electric groove, heavy metal guitar and drums accompany easy to remember texts. With the sound of temptress melody and the voice of detuned guitar the vocalist of “Mignon” starts to sneer the devil and raps: “beware Lucifer, you are the putrid meat, I will come one day and will steal your great chair.” (more)

BRASSBASTARDS One more participant of the festival “Cote of culture 04” is a young jazz group Brassbastardz, which has already put up a good show in some of jazz festivals. Their music is a cocktail of jazz, drum & bass, hip-hop. The main group idea is to harmonize music and video arts. The result of two years work and experiments– original Brassbastardz band style, where the different genres are smartly mixed. (more)

SPAGHETTI TRIO The group "Spaghetti Trio" will participate in the festival “Cote of culture” for the second time. It is one of the most gripping scene projects today. Their music it is a unit of traditional jazz, the ideology of the 8th decade “fusion” and today’s electronic music. The typical jazz group: percussion instruments, contrabass, guitar and saxophone with its individual timber give to the active & attentive audience the infinitive chain of questions and answers to well known themes. DJ POPX & JUHAN AVRUK The group playing electric music "Juhan Avruk" and its leader DJ POPX is the debutant of this year festival “Cote of Culture”. "Juhan Avruk"’s guitars rasp mixed with other instruments’ voices fulfill DJ POPX’s musical mélange. In two months the group song "What is that love?” became popular and the most “desirable” this season. "Juhan Avruk" ir DJ POPX name themselves quipsters and express their intention to fire the “Cote of culture” audience and create a real spree on the stage. (more)

DAINIUS PULAUSKAS GROUP The sextet of Dainius Pulauskas made a shiny performance in the last year “Cote of culture”. In 2004 festival guests will be pleased to meet and listen again the group headed up by of D Paulauskas, the band with a new name, a new composition, and a new programme. The music stylistics, electronic and acoustic instruments, extraordinary ensemble and all sextet mastery compose the individual of “Dainius Pulauskas Group”. Their compositions create the vocal musical space – peculiar fusion inversion. The diversity of musical expression makes dizzy and there is always space for improvisation in their strictly planed arrangements. (more)
